Today I am sharing a quilt with you that I designed -
This was designed as a Quilt of Valor, but I can see it done in a few different colorways.


The first one was made in Plaids:

And the second one with Star Prints on the solids

Flashing back a bit

I am going to flash back a bit today - this is a client quilt that she liked - but was a little blah about.

Sh wasn't sure she liked so much plain fabric in the quilt ....

and so:

we added a TON of texture

This turned out great - 

she didn't want feathers as we had just feathered the heck out of another quilt of hers

Isn't that fun?

abstract Purple

My client wanted to play with her purples and make something Modern and Abstract....

I think she succeeded!

Isn't that cool?   I quilted Swirls and pebbles and squares all over it

In the workshop

I sort of feel like Santa's helper this week - it is awesome!!!  Helping folks finish up their Quilt - and knowing they are ready to gift them at Christmas!!!

Here is one that is going to a Granddaughter that loves hearts!!

Brownie

Hmmmm- When Rising to this challenge - I didn't think about weekends....   They are much harder to get on the computer and type ;-)

I will introduce to Brownie :

This is my big brown mare - she loves me.  She loves me more when I bring her food.

Blueberry Crumble

This one started out as a challenge to use up my scraps..... and I have learned that when you start using scraps - you sort of make even more scraps.....

But it sure was fun!

I just kept stitching and adding fabrics, until - I ran out ( sort of)

I added a really cool pink and orange backing and quilted away

T Shirt Quilts

I love watching a pile of T shirts become an important Memento to a client!

This one was for a high school graduate - she chose her favorite shirts,but wasn't really sure what was going to happen.....

Isn't that just a fun a bright Quilt?   It was fun to make too!

Cheryl's Quilt

I was handed this quilt from my Client Cheryl - and she said - go for it.  ( of course, we discussed the price range first )   

Here you go:

this was a really fun quilt - it had a lot of different blocks in it, but was held together by the color scheme.  

And the back!  By using a solid - wow - you could really see the quilting stand out!

31 Day Blog Writing Challenge

In my minds eye - this blog was to be more about my professional part of my Quilting Life - Client Quilts, Tips, Quilts for sale..... and I am sort of hit or miss here.  I do quite well posting on my other blog - Alycia Quilts - but that is more.... well, all about me ;-)

I am joining in with the 31 day Blogging Challenge to see if I can't just make this more of a routine. And show off more of the Client Quilts that I work with.  Of course, Since it is the Christmas season - there are quite a few I can not show. In that case - I may reach back into the past quilt - either way - it will be Quilty ;-)


Today's Quilt was pieced by Judy P - and it is SUCH a great quilt! I love all the half squares on it.  She said she liked Feathers - so I went to town and did a feathers.

Isn't that a great combination of colors? The Blue Plaids and the Chicken Feed Sack type Prints.

I really enjoy collaborating with clients and making these Quilts come to life.
