My Client and her mother worked on this quilt together. It held a lot of sentimental memories. They wanted very simple quilting on it, but wanted it to look unique.
So ... here is what I did:
I did a little knot type quilting in the center of each block and wavy lined thru the chains.
I am pleased to say that the quilting met with their perceived look of the quilt - and it is ready to be bound!!!

Finished Friday
I am feeling the finished at this time of year!! It is so exciting to help finish up quilts for Christmas!!
Of course, not every quilt is for Christmas! Dianne pieced this beauty to send to the Hurricane Sandy victims. Quilters are the most compassionate people that I know!
Here is the total view. Mind you, it is not trimmed. Most customers prefer to trim them themselves.
A couple of close up shots. The blocks were all different. I loved them. The fabrics choices were wonderful!
We really wanted this to be a usable quilt, and one that would bring comfort. So I used an all over design, that not only enhanced the piecing but made sure that it would be sturdy for lots of use.
Hope you enjoyed seeing this quilt pieced by Dianne. I am linking up to http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/ for Finished Friday.

It's kind of a really weird angle I know, but I am not sure how to twist my phone to make it straight.

A Blue Block of the Month
Blue seems to be a popular color around here this time of year.
I loved this quilt. It had a lot of open spaces that needed to be filled, and very wide borders. There was a lot of space for the Quilting to show up.
Click on the pictures to see better. The quilting really added texture and dimensions to the quilt.
And of course, the backing is always fun to look at. When it is a solid back the quilting really shows up well.

A Very Blue Quilt
This quilt was made by a client of mine, and all she knew was that she liked feathers. She wanted the quilt to be quilted densely.... and those were the instructions....
I used lots of wavy feathers, and a very light blue thread. Sew Fine Thread to be exact.
Each block was quilted seperately with an individual Feather
I fell in love with the texture on the back. She did too. She thought it was a competely reversible quilt.
Hope you enjoyed seeing some close ups of this quilt. I sure enjoyed quilting it.
